  • Statewide Peer Warmline

    The statewide Peer Warmline is a phone line, available 24/7, staffed by Peer Support Specialists who offer non-clinical support and resources to those in crisis. Peer Support Specialists are people living in recovery with mental illness and/or substance use disorder who provide support to others who can benefit from their lived experience. Their unique expertise helps reduce stigma while strengthening overall engagement in care. Call 1-855-PEERS NC (855-733-7762) to connect with a peer support specialist today.

  • PEARLS Program

    The Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives (PEARLS) is an individualized evidence-based program that connects people with depressive symptoms with a coach to learn how to gain self-confidence in their ability to recognize their symptoms and learn how to solve problems affecting their lives. In addition, PEARLS focuses on increasing physical activity and social connections which often improves the mood of participants with depression. 

  • North Carolina National Alliance on Mental Illness

    The North Carolina National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI NC) is an organization of families, friends and individuals serving North Carolina with free mental health support, online groups, resources and education. NAMI NC provides mental health advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals and families can build better lives. Reach out to their helpline for a compassionate ear and helpful mental health resources. They are available Monday-Friday, 8:30pm-5:00pm.   • Contact your regional mental health provider for support

    Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organizations (LME/MCOs) are public, regional organizations in North Carolina that manage behavioral health services for individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, or traumatic brain injury. They are responsible for coordinating care for NC Medicaid beneficiaries and uninsured/underinsured individuals through contracts with the NC Department of Health and Human Services. These organizations provide and arrange services, connect individuals with a Tailored Care Manager, and manage the public system of care at the community level. 

  • Behavioral Health Urgent Care

    Behavioral Health Urgent Care sites provide immediate care to children, adolescents, adults, or families in crisis. Care may include: Assessment and diagnosis for mental illness, substance use and intellectual and developmental disability issues, planning and referral for future treatment, medication management, outpatient treatment, short-term follow-up care and referrals to appropriate levels of care.   • Healthy IDEAS

    The Healthy IDEAS program uses evidence-based practices to identify and address depression symptoms among older adults most at risk of being unrecognized and undertreated for depression. Existing community-based organizations embed the program’s core components into their services and their non-mental health professionals (such as case managers) employ a short-term, focused intervention to support better management of depressive symptoms and increased engagement in meaningful activities.

  • AARP Friendly Voices

    Connecting People to People: Someone who cares is just a phone call away. Sometimes, just hearing a friendly voice on the other end of the line can help in challenging times. If you or someone you love is feeling isolated or anxious in these challenging times, hearing a friendly voice on the phone may help. That’s why we created the AARP Friendly Voice program – a trained, caring group of volunteers standing by ready to chat, listen, or just say hello.

  • One Hope Line

    The One Hope Line is North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry’s (NCBAM) dedicated outreach to offer a spiritual response to social isolation and loneliness that affects many of North Carolina’s seniors. The One Hope Line is a free phone line that has trained staff and volunteers ready to encourage callers with a friendly voice, a compassionate ear, and to pray with callers if desired. The One Hope Line is open daily from 9am – 9pm and can be reached at 866-578-4673. Please note this resource is not a crisis line.
