NC Caregiver Portal
In North Carolina, more than 1 in 6 adults identify as caregivers and 356,000 caregivers are providing care to those living with Alzheimer’s, which equates to over $7.26 billion in unpaid care annually (NCMJ). NC Division of Aging piloted a program called the NC Caregiver Portal, a virtual caregiving resource that caregivers can access from the comfort of their homes to address the many complex needs and challenges caregivers face.

Eldercare Locator
The Eldercare Locator is a nationwide service that connects older Americans and their caregivers with trustworthy local support resources. The Eldercare Locator has been linking those who need assistance with state and local agencies on aging, as well as community-based organizations that serve older adults and their caregivers. Find help with services such as meals, home care or transportation, caregiver needs, training, and education, and more. Project CARE
Project CARE (Caregiver Alternatives to Running on Empty) supports family caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's or related dementia (ADRD) by providing care consultations, dementia-specific information, caregiver education, and limited funds for respite care. The program connects caregivers with community resources and services to help manage care needs and reduce caregiver stress.

Family Caregivers Support Program
This program offers a range of services to support family and informal caregivers to care for their loved ones at home for as long as possible. They provide resources offering information, counseling, caregiver training, short-term respite care, and supplemental support.

Dementia Capable NC
The Dementia Capable NC initiative focuses on increasing awareness, education, and support for people living with dementia and their caregivers in North Carolina. It includes resources for brain health, dementia-friendly communities, and training programs like Dementia Friends.

In-Home Aide
Find resources regarding in-home aid services that help individuals who have functional, physical or mental impairments accomplish their daily activities. Individuals may require both personal care (e.g. bathing, dressing, feeding) and home management (e.g. cooking, cleaning) assistance to be able to remain safely in their home settings

Home Care Independence
Home care independence is a consumer-directed in-home care program that allows an older adult to hire family, friends, or others as a caregiver or personal assistant. The personal assistant helps individuals who have functional, physical or mental impairments accomplish daily activities. A care advisor helps the individual consider options and offers advice on how to self-direct care as a participant in the program.
