The Social Bridging Project
ABOUT THE SOCIAL BRIDGING PROJECT
A catalyst for Social Bridging NC, the Social Bridging Project aims to alleviate difficulties that accompany social isolation and loneliness. We serve as a bridge between you and the resources you need to be happier and more comfortable at home.
How it Started
The Social Bridging Project was started in 2020 by three people who wanted to find a way to support socially isolated adults as the COVID-19 pandemic swept through North Carolina.
The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of social connections and the impact of social isolation on physical and mental health, emphasizing the need for creative solutions to help people stay connected and supported regardless of their circumstances.
Our Mission
The Social Bridging Project is dedicated to addressing the negative consequences of social isolation and loneliness in older adults by building meaningful social connections and helping individuals find the resources they need to live as comfortably as possible.

What We Do
FRIENDLY CHECK-INS
Social isolation and loneliness can be a heavy burden, but you don't have to bear it alone. Our team is here to provide regular friendly telephone check-in calls. You and your wellness caller can get to know each other over the course of weeks, months, and sometimes years.
A simple chat on the phone with someone who cares can brighten your day and remind you that you are valued and cherished.
REFERRALS TO ESSENTIAL RESOURCES
Navigating through a myriad of resources can be overwhelming. We are committed to understanding your needs and working with you to find services you need throughout the state of North Carolina.
Whether you need assistance with transportation, meal deliveries, or anything else, we'll connect you with reliable services so you can focus on what truly matters—building connections and thriving.
BASIC TECHNOLOGY TRAINING
If you're new to technology, don't worry! We believe that technology should be an empowering tool, not an obstacle. We can help with basic technology support, empowering you to confidently navigate your devices to access telehealth services, and connect with your loved ones through video calls and social media.
Learn how to attend virtual health care appointments, fitness classes, engage with your faith community, and explore a world of knowledge at your fingertips.
ACCESSING TELEHEALTH SERVICES
Your health is our priority. We can help connect you through virtual health care (telehealth) services with your medical providers from the comfort of your home. Stay up to date with your healthcare needs, seek advice, and address any concerns without leaving your safe space.
We'll help you set up telehealth appointments, ensuring you stay in touch with your medical providers conveniently, securely, and privately.
